Coronado hotels offer something that most of the other hotels here n San Diego lack...and that is the true San Diego experience. Coronado, for those who do not already know is an island (well once was) and access to this city is limited to a auto bridge, a pedestrian ferry from downtown or driving up from Imperial beach. The quiet nature and small town feel of Coronado attracts not only families, but anyone who is looking for unspoiled beaches, quiet afternoons and, in the summertime rolling, gentle surf. Once you have finished your day at the beach you can head over to the Hotel del, which has a fantastic deck from which you can enjoy grand views of the Pacific ocen and Point Loma off in the distance.

Coronado, and the hotels that call the island home offer some of the best accommondations anywhere in San Diego. They can though, be a bit on the high side of the price scale, but visiting during the fall or early winter makes this an affordable option. In addition to the saving you will get with the hotels here, the weather is (generally speaking ) better in these months than the summer, as the coastal fog seems to settle in a bit over the island and most of coastal San Diego and southern California. One walk down Orange ave and you can feel not only the sea breezes and the scents of the ocean nearby, but you can truly get the feel of being away from it all in a place unlike any other here in southern California.
